Jim,
It could be the way your frequency counter is designed if it has an optical
sensor.
I'll explain:
The simplest way to make an typical optical sensor results in the frequency
counter to start counting when it sees a change from "dark to light" (i.e.
when the shaft just stops blocking the light
The "old" Precision Composite Mach 22's changed only 1-2 cpm per iron if you used all the same stiffness shafts. Tom Flanagan was, I think, the first to post that if you wanted to get a "normal" slope out of a set of these shafts, you needed to order three different stiffnesses. for example: 3
HI, I need some help understanding why i get ascending frequency readings
when testing tt dg steel shafts. when i twang the shaft and get, say 230 cpm
then reset and get 231 off of the same twang, then reset and get 232 and so
on untill the shaft wont register. this seams to sugest that the shaft i

I just had an interesting distance challenge and surprising results fitting

indeed include the roll with the carry distance, and was definitely something

Roll is very important. The gear effect, from hitting the ball high
on the face, reduces back spin and gives you more distance. Tee it
high and let if fly.

Jeremy,
Roll is a big factor. Tom's trajectory software (which I'm just
starting to look at) says "Actual results will vary with the green
surface conditions, but data calculated here is representative"
Where I play the course is nearly always too wet and you frequently
get one yard of roll. Rece

Very good article on loft, launch ,and trajectory.
Did you do any tests using slower swing speeds typical
of Seniors or Ladies ?
Now here's a really tricky question as the Scienc
