ShopTalk: graphite iron

2011-08-08 Thread Ed Boggess
I have a set of Aldila NV hybrid iron shafts in .370 and I am asking if I can insert them into a set of tapered .355 irons. Will the cross-cut method work with graphite or will trimming a taper angle into the 370 tips weaken the tip too much? -- ED Boggess

As to tip heavy graphite itron shafts, the UST Proforce 95's fit this category. As a result lengths can be close to steel without adding much or any weight. Also G. Loomis shafts are typically tip heavy, but they are hard to come by, but can still be found occasionally on ebay. Stay away fro

ShopTalk: Tip stiff; tip soft?

I came across the ad for the new UST Harmon shafts offered by GS. In the advertising there was the statement that the particular tip soft model would help draw the ball; apparently a tip stiff would help correct a hook. Any truth to this claim? ED - Original Message - From: t
