I built both a driver and a six iron using the driveway market shaft.
Dug around and found a source for black acetal (aka Delron [r] ) rods, dimensions
of .375 .3125. More flexible than the driveway market rod and a better
fit for golf heads. Tensile strength is rated at 9,720 psi.
Take an clean plastic jar with a lid, fill it with 2/3 with water and drop
in a golf ball.
Add about a 1/2 cup of regular table salt, put the lid on and shake until
the salt is dissolved.
If the ball doesn't float, keep adding salt.
Eventually the ball will float.
