Hey John...that Harrison UL3.5 isn't any better than the others, it was just
grateful to you for pulling it out of the barrel. After a week or so, it'll
remember who you are and treat you just as badly as those other clubs <GRIN>

Subject: ShopTalk: xflex

Hit the X great today. I was stuck in the "as soft as you can
control" thought process and never bothered to "think outside the
box" (I just made that up, think it will become cliche?) I always
thought I should be hitting a firm or soft stiff and sort of adjusted
my swing to fit that when I played with those flexes so I could hit
the ball with some consistency. If the shaft has a soft or flexible
feel, I'd slow my swing down, stiffer and I'd cut loose a bit. I've
also found that the better shaft manufacturers actually seem to be
remarkably consistent...an AJ Tech/Apache/SK Fiber/Graphite
Design/Accuflex/Penley R flex is an R flex. The only one that seems a
bit out of whack is Harrison, which seem to play stiffer. On that
note, I pulled my old beat Peerless Steel PHD 7 wood with a Harrison
UL3.5 f/s flex shaft out of my old club barrel a few weeks ago. I
have NEVER hit a bad shot with that club, screwed around with other 7
woods for the past 4 or 5 years and brought it back and still have
not hit a bad shot with it.
The Harrison UL3.5 is the world's first perfect shaft. For everyone.
Finally the debate is resolved. Rambling is over.
