I ran into the same thing recently with two Maltbie putters, one
carbon/brass the other stainless steel. The shaft angles would
definitely have been affected.
I used SA2000 and shafting beads. The SA2000 let me manually hold
the shaft at the proper angle until it dried.

Right idea, wrong material. You can use any one of the shimming
methods talked about in here. Drywall mesh tape, wraps of a piece
of fishing line, shim springs, window screen etc etc. There is one
method using masking tape you could use though. At the top and
