Now,something I am not very sure of. I think that the libraries in the mkl directory you are using are for the Itanium architecture. If your cluster is not composed of Itanium nodes, I think you should be using the em64t libraries. Also, check inside the directory for mkl libraries using openmpi -

Hello Everyone, I'm trying to install Siesta 3.0_rc1 on a cluster with mkl 10.1.0.015 libraries and mpif90 with open mpi. Has anyone one tried this before. My make stops at the following error: /share/intel/mkl/10.1.0.015/lib/64/libmkl_intel_lp64.a: could not read symbols: File in wrong format mak
