Try this XF86Config file. This is on my RedHat 6.2 box, XFree86 4.02, and a ATI Xpert

when i had that problem it was because my monitor
didnt support the frequencies that the screenmode's
were sending to it. (i think, at least) try setting
everything to 640x480 and see if you can get it to
load in that mode. i didnt look at your xf86config
file though, so im not sure if it was al
