Hmm, one last suggestion. What if he goes in with linux fdisk and uses the t command to change the extended partition's type to 5, which is what fdisk and disk druid expect. Then he should be able to see the logical partitions, and install linux. If windows barf, then change the type back to 0

I use it to shrink partitions with doze in it all the time. I thought that was its purpose. Defrag twice to make sure everything is on the bottom end and then chop out what you want.. My 2cents. c i'm pretty sure fips won't be able to help---he needs to shrink a > partition with stuff alre
