You need to modify a line in /etc/inittab. The bottom of mine looks like this: # Run xdm in runlevel 5 x:5:respawn:/usr/local/bin/wdm -nodaemon modify accordingly. You might have a backup. If you used RPM to install XF86 you definitely do. I think it would be called inittab.rpmsave or something

Hi, I just upgraded my XFree86, but now everytime I restart X it goes to xsm instead of my KDE's XDM that I had set up before...can anyone tell me what to modify to change it back?   Thanks,   James
