OS. He just bought a new system with WinXP installed on it, and it's
running NTFS. Now, I've heard bad things about NTFS and Linux. And
as far as my last installation, Mandrakes partition utility didn't even
recognize NTFS as a valid FS. Doe
Sorcer is definitely worth the time and effort to get going. I don't know if
it is the optimized binaries, or just the minimalism of the system, but what
has impressed me the most is the responsiveness of KdE, which always felt
sluggish in Mandrake. The other great part is the super quick boot
I now have access to a few new macs with the nice DVD-R drives and just got
some fresh dvd-r discs in. I havn't found any clear details about mkisofs
and DVD and am hoping someone has a little more clue than I. My hope is a
permanent archive of my mp3's without losing the many long filenames.
