The problem is that the card is non-PnP ISA, and the kernel driver does not properly detect the resources. I had to use 3com's dos utility to look up these resources. I made some changes to /etc/modules.conf. I'd make a backup of that file before upgrading, I don't know if Mandrake will wipe

Mandrake is the Windows of the Linux world. It takes /all/ the guess work out of it. You should get an IP even before you really finish the install -- I believe part of the install is to check for updates to packages / allow you to install some extra ones from the internet (if you choose). I d
