Actually, there is: SIGLinux. Installfests are held about twice each semester. The SIGLinux mailing list is reasonably active, but not so much now as it is summer time. The group is part of the UT ACM student chapter. They fund everything we do, i.e. pizza, drinks, and blank CDs for the installfe
