I'm sorry. I did not mean to be so cryptic...
Basically, the MBR (Master Boot Record) is in the first few sectors of
your boot device (here, the harddisk) where one keeps data that boots up
operating system(s) in the rest of the hard drive. If that data is not
right, then the OS'es may not boot.

Let's think about this some. I know that these instructions would
have been completely meaningless to me when I was first star
