I should mention http://startupnews.com.au too... Perth's Startup Community
newsblog
The Perth scene is pretty lively and growing fast, and good tech
co-founders are always in demand. You should have no problem finding a team
to build something with :)
If you'd like any specific information, d
As part of the national Startup Spring, we're having a party :) In a

Not that we need any reasons or excuses for a party, obviously, but we do
have some. One of them is that plenty of startups "launch" without ever

Simran,
I've done a couple of test courses here in Perth, and I'm looking to start
a longer one soon.
The basis I was planning on using was the Codecadamy web dev course:

Bec,
Thanks for the amazing feedback.
Also thanks for letting me know I'd broken my production server - all fixed
now and the buttons take you to the mailing list signup (I'm working on the
actual content now!) :)
You're so right - the problem is getting in front of people when they need
it.

Apologies for posting a customer survey here - I wouldn't normally, but I
have reasons!
Entrepreneurs have been identified as at risk of depression/mental health
problems, and most of us realise that we have to manage our psychology as
part of the process, and we're not shy about adopting new
I think part of the recent glorification of failure is an attitude
adjustment. I went through an entire MBA without anyone ever once talking
about failure or addressing it as a possible outcome of a business (except
one finance lesson on the mechanics of bankruptcy). Conventional business

I was talking to another founder last week, and he mentioned that "there
are people out there who steal ideas: they have an outsource development
team ready to go and if they hear an idea that looks good, they get to
market first".

I always find it symptomatic of the culture that we have three completely
different and unrelated Startup Australias:
http://www.startup-australia.org/
http://startupaus.org/
http://www.start-up.com.au/
Maybe if we can form a solid "Startup Australia" from the actual startup
community then there

so good, my legs and back hate me but I'm feeling the benefits.
I work from multiple locations, but what inspired me to build this one is
the standing desks at Spacecubed which I use when I'm there.

My startup is around mental health: http://keepfitstaysane.com and I got to
