Hey beach-goers, Random Hacks of Kindness <http://www.rhok.org/> is an unconference/hackathon bringing together developers, geeks and tech-savvy do-gooders around the world to develop software solutions for humanity's challenges. There's a world-wide camp/hackathon, RHoK #1.0<http://www.rhok.org/2010/05/rhok-1-0-%E2%80%93-rhok%E2%80%99s-first-global-hackathon/>, on June 5/6, with a Sydney satellite hosted at UNSW. It sounds like just the kind of thing some people here might be interested in.
You can find out more info and sign up to attend here: http://www.rhok.org/events/rhok-1-0/. I'm tangentially involved in the Sydney logistics, so if you'd like to do more than just participate, do let me know.
