This could probably be because of agriculture being a huge industry in
California. Fresh fruits and veggies are available year-round in most
parts of the state.

Quite an interesting perspective, but the families are differently

Some observations:
1. People in developed countries eat a lot of processed food.
2. Food on the West Coast is much cheaper than the west coast.
