I installed a Kinetico Water Softener to start the filtering system, with a whole house sediment filter first then water softner then whole house carbon block then an r/o at sink. works great. The Kinetico measures the water flow to recharge the tanks so water is not wasted(or salt)

EPA limit is 0.005 mg/kg/day. For that limit to be one gram a person would have to weigh around 440,000 pounds (200,000 kg) so I don't know where you are getting a one gram limit! If a person weights 100 kg (220 pounds), their limit would be 1 mg which is just over twice the 450 ucg (.45 mg)
