When I was a kid I discovered that salicylic acid,
added in equal ratio to the main constituents of
gunpowder, would burn white hot, explode
unpredictably, spall concrete, and definitely burn
through paved roads.
What did I make?
I've been told it was a form of TNT but I don't know.
