I put CS in my hummingbird feeder to keep it from fermenting. Of course now it
is hard to keep it filled.
I also put it in my ice tea to keep it fresh.

Hi Janis,
Excellent responses from you and others. I'm glad to hear from folks
with more fishkeeping experience than I have.
Janis,
You can email me with fish advice any time! I recently got a bit frustrated
with being a bad fishkeeper and disassembled my tank. My son has talked me
into letting him help me reestablish it, and so t'will be done as soon as we
get the living room painted.
Thanks again!

Dear Kass,
Yes, I think CS would be good for Ick, fin rot and any other infectious
diseases. Put the fish into a separate bowl during treatment, as the CS will

Hi Janis,
That really makes sense. I'll give it a try next time I have a sickly
swimmer, and let ya know how it goes.

Kass,
I suspect the birds drinking and bathing in CS laced water are a lot
cleaner and possibly even healthier. Have you ever seen
what birds will eat and drink?? Bugs, worms, carrion, etc.
I'm sure a little CS water (that humans would drink) could not
possibly hurt birds that would drink

Dear Kass, Probaly keeping them very healthy! I gave my sick cockatiel some
CS and it cleared up her Giardiasis. Also some to a finch who had I don`t
know what. He is now just fine.
I put a drop in the drinking cups occasionally.

What's it doing to the birds? They are very small.

Hi CS users,
Another use for the occasional CS batch that doesn't look
appealing enough to ingest, is to put some of this
CS in the bird bath water. The water in my bird bath
goes yucky in about 3 days. With a cup of CS added, it
stayed clean for more than a week. (so far!)
