Hello, members of the List,

A number of posts have indicated that calcium ascorbate
can be expensive. I put a Vitamin C tablet next to a
calcium carbonate antacid tablet in drinking glass, added
enough distilled water to cover them, watched the reaction
awhile, pulverized the tablets, stirred the mixture, and
tasted the result.

The ascorbic acid tablet and calcium carbonate tablet
produced bubbles where they touched underwater. I
suppose the bubbles were carbon dioxide. The final product
tasted bland and not unpleasant. I suppose it was
calcium ascorbate solution. One thing I can say for sure
is that it was not expensive.

Best regards,

Matthew
