Nancy felt silly about telling people "about never catching a cold".
For what it is worth, Nancy, there is a vast body of opinion out there that
believes that a cold is simply the body frantically trying to eliminate
something very bad it has ingested.
The clue seems to be if it lasts more than a day then detective work is needed:
1. What have you added to your diet or lifestyle since 36 hours before you
"caught" it?
2. What has happened in your environment since 36 hours before the symptoms
onset?
The healthy people that I know ( mostly ex-Cancer sufferers) treat
so-called Flu symptoms as environmental pollution and it is usually
spot-on. Some causes:
1. Road repair work nearby. ( Field line markings in sports areas, park
weed treatments)
2. Sudden exposure to a long period of "Air conditioning" especially
heating - airplane flights almost a guarantee.
3. A food "trick". E.G. Apparently MSG and a few others are now classified
as different products and can be secretly imposed on you.
But many "safe" products get taken over by big companies and with no
apparent change in listed ingredients or anything else, can become quite
deadly. (Personal experience of one simple product: Potato Crisps!)
After doing some not too rigorous tests myself recently, it does appear
that CS is fatal to most "baddies" without harming the goodies.
We started with almost homeopathic doses, but use it everwhere now.
We are forced to buy commercial milk ( being vegetarians dairy is very
important to us) and although always processing it into Kefir ( like
yoghurt/cheese) were not happy. Then we put Cs to the test. Could it be
used as a sterilising agent and not wreck our carefully minded Kefir culture?
We put 5-6 drops in to a 2 litre milk container. It works.
We make Kefir from it and it works beautifully! The Kefir never was so good!
Every time they re-mark the lanes in the sports park 100 yards from my
study window, I get a severe "cold" for a day. Head aches, eyes water,
nose runs, etc
It does have a foul solvent smell, but long before the smell reaches me I
have "caught" my cold.
