About 55 years ago our neighbour lady[approx 40 yrs. old] collapsed with severe stomach pains and was rushed to Emergency.The Dr. there prescribed HCL drops in water each day.That was her problem,no hydro-chloric acid in her stomach.She was fine after that. I have used Betaine HCL/Pepsin to cure much of my stomach ills over the last number of years too.Adele Davis talks about same in her book,"Let's Get Well" Harold.
