http://www.lewisford.info/files/The_Basic_Program_from_Feeling_Young_and_In_Love3.pdf
is a pdf document which has information about Thyroid and iodine as well as
a lot of other subjects. 124 pages set out in the paper saving mode I
favour.
I found it in a link from the website
http://www.iodine4health.com/overviews/uses/ford_uses.htm

Quote and "mention in despatches": If you are ... ever unfortunate enough
to develop shingles, the best
supplements for treating it are the same supplements that
best suppress and control the herpes 1 and 2 viruses. That
includes Lysine, dairy products, Iodide, Progesterone,
Thyroid Tissue, Thymus Tissue, Mild Silver Protein
solutions, Colloidal Silver, and/or St. John's Wort.

http://www.iodine4health.com/overviews/uses/ryan_drum.htm had info on
Thyroid function, dysfunction and disease. Links to page
http://www.ryandrum.com/thyroid1.html which says Unlike Hashimoto's
hypothyroiditis, Graves' disease seems very amenable to successful herbal
intervention and control. The three main herbs used are: Melissa officinalis
(lemon balm), Lycopus virginiana (bugleweed) and Leonuris
cardiaca(motherwort) in descending order of strength and apparent
thyrosuppressive efficacy.

http://www.ryandrum.com/thyroidpart1.htm says

11. There is an especially vicious class of endocrine disrupters that have
become ubiquitous in our human environment. These substances have been used
to improve our lives. They are: flame retardants, resorcinol-based glues,
and MBTE gasoline additive s used to boost octane after tetra-ethyl lead was
banned.
The flame retardants, Poly-bromated di-ethyl ethers, PBDE's, were mandated
for children's pajamas, bedding, stuffed toys, etc.; they are also in
motel/hotel bedding, curtains, carpeting (all wall-to-wall), and upholstered
furniture. They are present in all water, soil, and air. They are especially
concentrated in mammalian milk, in particular human mothers' milk. They are
thyrodisruptive and pass transdermally from clothing into infants and
children. It is the regular 8-12 hour constant contact with a child's
epidermis which allows the unavoidable slow accumulation of PBDE's. ...
Resorcinal, Dihydroxybenzene, has been used therapeutically as an alleged
starting molecule for catechols. Industrially, it is used in the production
of Rayon and Nylon, and the superb resorcinol/formaldehyde glues,
particularly in plywood, chipboard, and sawdust composites for fake wood
furniture.
As these products are abraided, scuffed, cut, or broken, tiny amounts or
resorcinol polymer dust particles are released into our living spaces and
are inhaled, where they rest on mucous membrane surfaces where nano amounts
are continually absorbed and may be thyrodisruptive. ... . The
effects of resorcinol on human thyroids is still being investigated.
I believe these resorcinol-sourced particles may be a significant factor in
the increasing thyroid epidemic, particularly in the countries where the
most resorcinol has been used.

Gasoline additives are being breathed by all of us. Many are
thyrodisruptive.

http://www.ryandrum.com/thyroidpart2.htm said: There is increasing
evidence that the unshielded thyroid gland is susceptible to longterm
developmental damage and disease subsequent to one
exposure to diagnostic dental or chest X-Rays and perhaps CAT scans

And http://www.iodine4health.com/overviews/uses/panam_uses.htm says
24. Vegan gas. reducing the gas from eating beans! Macrobioticists have know
for
years that cooking beans with seaweed reduces bean flatus. If you're soaking
beans before cooking them, add 1 or 2 drops of Lugol's, and let them soak
for an hour or more. Pour offf that water before cooking, and add fresh
water. You'll be surprised at the reduction in resulting intestinal gas!
(Technical explanation: There's a naturally occurring enzyme inhibitor in
beans which interferes with starch digestion in the gut, producing gas.
Lugol's inactivates this enzyme inhibitor.)

Looking for information on enlarged thyroid. No other real symptoms
other than a sore throat. It is now quite swollen. No sweating or hot
flashes or being cold
