if the hot plate will run at that low of a temp, it'll do just fine. Too high a temp and sometimes you get yellow CS , probably due to over active atoms colliding?
An old tuna can with some perforations sitting on a coffee maker works.
A heating pad works.

Hi all,
I wonder if a hot plate could be used for heating the water to about 100 F and in this way let thermal convection do some gentle stirring? Would there be enough stirring, or should the temp be a little higher to cause more convection? What do you all think?
