I doubt that you want anything between the infrared heat emitter and
your skin because it would block the infrared rays and defeat

The herbal tincture is what I used / neat / either 1:2 or 1:5 - I can't
remember now, every couple of days I would inject a smidge more of the
tincture into the dressing just to keep it a little bit damp but without
taking the dressing off.
