It seems the network issues I was seeing had absolutely nothing to do with
SIMH...and everything to do with the fact somewhere in my VMware system
packets were being duplicated...

You can override the default value of delete with
SET CONSOLE DEL=interpret ASCII code value as DELETE
The value is radix 16 on hex machines, and radix 8 on everything else.
