I don't do any compiling, but I run the standard SIMH executable with the
VAX emulation under Cygwin, with pcap networking, and it works fine, right
down to being able to run DECWindows/Motif using the Cygwin X-windows
subsystem, so my Windows laptop looks like a VAXStation!

I've been using 3.7.x for a while, and thought I should upgrade to 3.9,
particularly in order to get network loopback from SIMH client (VAX) to host
(Windows XP). I'm confused as to whether I can use the windows binaries on
trailing-edge.com - in the past I think I had to explicitly acquire binarie
the 3.7.3
version boots and runs OK. Has anyone else succeeded in running the VAX SIMH
from the github link below?

I use VNC to connect to my headless Raspberry Pi to run a SimH VAX- see

Yes, I’d seen that previously. His web site doesn’t indicate any further
progress though – no change since 2013. I’ll try copying in Matt Burke’s email

I've been running some VAX emulations on PC and on Raspberry Pi, and I note
that the version of SimH that you get with Rapbian is a rather elderly
3.8-1. What are the plans to get 4.0 be something other than Beta, which is
presumably a prerequisite for it being pulled as a supported package on
Rasp
