Hi Tom
I have TOPS-10 monitor 7.04 running quite happily on simh.
One of things I found was that set cpu idle may not always be ok, but is fine
when you have a working o/s.
Also I set cpu tops10 - I’m not sure what this does but it means it works. Here
is my tops 10 startup script:

Hi
Im using the pdp10 emulator and running tops10 7.0.4 and Im seeing a couple of
issues:
- Intermittently a terminal session will issue a TOPS-10 command (say R SUBFIL)
and the mux will echo the characters but then the session will not do any
output from the system until I go to the CTY and g
Hi
There has been quite a bit of chat about the DZ handler recently, so I just
wanted to share an issue that I have found whilst using a DZ mux on pdp10. When

Having fixed the LPFORMS, SYSTEM.CMD and SYSJOB.INI, and enable lp20 in simh, I
still couldn’t get it to work until I did the shutdown and startup as below.
Now it prints. Hurrah!

Possibly a silly question, but does anyone know how to get the printer to work
on TOPS-10 on simh? I have attached a printer files to the printer device but
the printer and the spooler fills up with output on TOPS-10, but the the
printer stays offline in TOPS-10 and I cant find out how to get it

Hi all
Im trying to get the BCPL compiler on TOPS-10 going and I have the install CTL
file which sets out the following pre-requisites:
THE FOLLOWING MODS TO THE SYSTEM/CUSPS ARE ESSENTIAL TO THE SMOOTH ;
; RUNNING OF BCPL PROGRAMS: ;

Thanks Rich. At Tim’s suggestion I cracked it by giving the user account
profile a quota on dskb: and that automatically included dskb: in the search
list for the user account.

Hi all
A bit off topic, but Im not a historical Dec user so don’t know some of the
basics with Dec OSes and have never oped one before.
I have installed and configured Tops-10 on a simh PDP10.
It is all fine, but when I am creating user accounts I have bumped into two
minor issues and after wa
That's amazing! I'll have to see if I can get it all going as i have never
opped a Dec 10 so it will be a learning journey.

A bit off topic, but if anyone has a BCPL compiler for the Dec 10 I have the
source code and files to the original Essex MUD. Unfortunately I think the
compiler is lost, but I live in hope.

HI
I have the latest pull for smh and I am running HP/Access o/s on the HP2100 cpu
& iop. On the latest pull the guest OS seems to loose track of time, notably
about 5 minutes over two hours. Anyone got any ideas about what might be going
on?
Thanks
Quentin

I wonder whether OP is referring to a situation where there is a 96 character
line, such as a programming language statement, and that the first 80
characters would be on a card and then the remaining 16 characters would be on
the next card but with a continuation character in, say, column 1. I
I second kermit as a general purpose solution. It also supports non ascii
character sets which for some older systems is important. Failing that paper
tape as a txt file works.

I remember using iRMX-86 which was a realtime os environment and from memory
had a ucsd like menu based user interface along with PLM-86 as the main
programming language. We used it for building flight simulator visual systems.

Hi
I have noticed an issue with the HP2100 mux that results in telnet sessions
that are unexpectedly dropped by the remote being left in an established state
indefinitely and therefore clogging up mux ports even though the simulated
system shows them as disconnected. I believe this may be to do

Very off topic, but there is a old HP computer simulator called HP9800E which
fully simulates in software the look, feel and sound of the HP98XX range of
programmable calculators/computers. If you run it up it makes the fan noises
and the printer noises and everything whilst flashing all thr rig
I run simh on a sheevaplug with two concurrent HP2100 systems simulated with

the performance takes a hit on CPU before memory becomes an issue.

It sounds like HP Fortran which is available for simh. You can find tapes and

Hello all
First time post on here, apologies if not properly on topic.
As part of a project to get HP Access running using the hp2100 simulator on a
