Hello Verma, I'm assuming that sending of UPDATE is for session expiry feature. In this case if the A-node is not the refresher, then he may not send the UPDATE request so your suggestion may work some times only. Even decreasing of the timer to 1 - 2 minutes leads the increases of network traffic. You can check the RTP timer implementation to clear the call at A-Node. If the B-Node sends the BYE request then it also stopped the RTP stream. So A-Node will not receive ant RTP data. Ideally the RTP time out wil be 10 seconds. Clear the call if the RTP time out happens.
Thanks & Regards, Sreenath. ________________________________ From: "Verma, Salil (NSN - IN/Gurgaon)" <salil.ve...@nsn.com> To: sip-implementors@lists.cs.columbia.edu Sent: Wednesday, 28 December 2011 10:04 AM Subject: [Sip-implementors] Reduce the time to send UPDATE message in SIP call Hi, If there is any problem that ( A-Node) cannot receive BYE message from partner exchange, A-Node will be waiting about 15 minutes, then A-Node will send UPDATE message and the partner will send 481 message with Call/Transaction Doesn't Exist. After that, A-Node will clear call. Can we reduce the duration time to send UPDATE message to around 1-2 minutes? It means that during call converstion, every 1-2 minutes A-Node will send UPDATE message to check call status.
