Re: [sipx-users] SIPXecs Sending 407 Proxy Auth Required for Incoming Calls from Unmanaged Gateway

Hi The From address is the format @ - for example, <0275779...@210.55.232.170> - this of course does not match a locally configured user identity on SIPXecs as the calling party number will always be a PSTN number. Note that I can get this going without authentication if I use a SIP Trunk instead

Hi I'm using SIPXecs 4.0.2 and trying to get it to connect to a Cisco 2821 PSTN Gateway. I can make outgoing calls no problem, however SIPXecs sends back a 407 Proxy Auth Required response for incoming calls from the PSTN gateway. Is there anyway to disable this - i.e. accept unauthenticated INV

There is nothing really helpful here that would allow for any troubleshooting for your issue. The fact that calls don't go out or in is an indication of an issue that will be logged. What is in those logs will point to where the issue is. When calls are not going out, you will need to make a call

It may be because the gateway is sending the phone numbers in a format that does not match SipX. You would need a trace to see what is actually being sent. If it's the case either modifying the number at the gateway or setting up an alias for each user in SipX would correct it. Geoff  Van Brunt
