In reference to the incoming calls, each CNAM lookup is cached by the
ITSP for a week. I wanted to see if sipx has a mechanism to cache the
lookup results as I, understand, some UA's do.

correct, sipX does not perform CNAM dips. However, you can easily create
a plugin or modify the caller alias plugin floating around and perform
your own CNAM dips and cache it.
