If you are using an unmanaged phone you can just skip the phone
configuration section.

I have installed sipx4.0 from ISO. I have no problem to access the VM TUI
from an eyebeam softphone using G.711A/U,
however since It is more likely that remote users will be using compressed
codecs, I've tested ilbc and speex. in both cases the call fails and TUI is
not accessible.
