Yesterday I informed Dimitris that SQLAlchemy was at version 1.2.0 while
the SBo repository shows 1.1.14. He wrote back that he changed the version
in his repository. Well, today the SA devs released version 1.2.1 if that
can be used for the next changes release.

I updated kodi to 17.6 and it built fine against libass 0.14.0.
