Well, I can answer only from the perspective of one who ported it to
Jboss. Since Slide has its own way of storing users, the integration for
security with Tomcat is required. J2EE has a huge gap in the spec at
this point. As for some of the hardcodedness, I haven't run across
anything specific that was hardcoded while moving to JBoss. What are you
seeing, maybe I just haven't run across it yet. I do know there is some
JMX integration wrappers for Tomcat as well, which would have to be
ported to JBoss to gain JMX capability (which JBoss rocks at, BTW).
However, due to the Slide low-level API's nature of needing to direct
connect to the kernel, this is a moot point for now.

andJBoss)

The module James has works wonderfully, but I think Ivan has touched on
something that I have been wondering: why is Slide so Tomcat centric?
Why all the wrapper classes? Why do those wrapper classes have
hard-coded paths to the WAR files? It just doesn't make much sense nor
does help make slide any easier to integrate in other containers. Jetty,
to my knowledge, doesn't use wrappers so integrating Slide into Jetty
isn't going to be as smooth. Anyone know why this is so?
