Well I just got back home from the Eric's Trip and Orange Glass show in
Moncton at the Esquire.

Hope, a local band opened, I don't much care for them and have nothing to
say about them, I planned on showing up late and missing them altogether but
I did see some of them.

Orange Glass were Orange Glass. They were really good but unfortunately at
the Esquire, no one sounds great. The vocals are never loud enough among
other things, there's just something that never sounds right there. Chris
was very solid on drums, the last time I saw then he messed up a few times
but he was great this show. They played all of my favorites, Wait A Day,
Fate and Preoccupied. Unfortunately, Chris managed to break his bass drum
skin halfway through the set and that created a big pause in the show but
other then that the set was great and well enjoyed by myself.

Eric's Trip were fabulous, of course they always are. The new stuff really
rocks. They were really into the show too. It was kind of funny, Julie
messed up a few times and she would look over at Chris and sort of grin and
smile in her sweet own way(she had a really neatto jacket too, on one side
there was a Sup Pop patch and on the other, there was her name, Joyce, were
can I get mine?). Like always, Julie's mike wasn't loud enough and I had a
hard time hearing her unfortunately( I think that I was spoiled when I saw
Sloan at Birdland this summer because everything was so sweet sounding
there, I seem to have problems really enjoying shows at the Esquire). Mark
blew me away on drums like always. They played quite a few of the oldies
too, even Sloan Song, one of my fav's. They ended their set with Sunlight
and did an incredible job at it. They also did an encore but had a hard
time picking a song, they said that they forgot them all, finally they
decided on Smoke which kind of dissapointed me because I wanted to hear the
Road South, I guess it just wasn't meant to be. After this, Rick started
another song, but the others didn't remember it and tried to follow him but
gave up, thus ending the set.

Anyways, it was a really good show and I can't wait for the new album. Also
I got to meet James and a few other Sloan Netters so that was fun. So long.
Marc
