Looking at the stuff on a RH7 Powertools CD, I see 2 copies of each
item. One has an 'S'. What does that stand for?

Have you tried an "apt-get --build source libvorbis0"?
I'm not sure if they've written it in a cross-platform manner, but one can
only hope. :)
