Okay, I decided to cheat. I started X as root and modified the settings
that way. That said, I'd still like to know the command line required,
so that I can fix it more quickly if another system has the same problem.

I'm trying to install ubuntu (or generic debian) onto a laptop without a
cdrom drive. I've been able to download the root and boot images and am
using winimage to put them to a floppy. When I download the cd-drivers.img
and the net-drivers.img and open them in winimage they don't have any
