The second in the [EMAIL PROTECTED] "Get to Know Your Freedom" series is on this
Thursday night.

When: Thursday, May 12th, 19:00 til 21:30

Where: Corner of Henry and Cook Streets, Turrella, Sydney.

Who:
This session is suitable for both complete Linux beginners and those
with more experience who wish to share their knowledge and skills.

What:
In the last session, we learnt about PC hardware by pulling apart a
roomful of dis-functional machines and making over 13 functional
machines out of them. This time we'll take those thirteen machines, add a
few more (or your own if you wish to bring it) and take the next step in
getting to know your freedom - installing Free Software on the PC.

We will be installing the Linux distribution Ubuntu for this exercise, in
a choice of server or desktop configuration (depending on your preference
and the machine you choose to install it on).

Costs:
Attendance is a gold coin donation to help feed the [EMAIL PROTECTED] For a
double
digit note donation, you can take home the machine you've installed
Linux on (all bar five machines are available for this purpose). There
are about 20 machines to choose from, from PII's, Dual Pentium Pro's,
Apple Macs, Sun Sparc Ultra 5s and assorted odds'n'ends.

I look forward to seeing you at what should be a vibrant and educational
night.
