If it hasn't been mentioned yet, the General Talk at tomorrow's SLUG meeting
will be all about these kinds of devices :)

Has anyone has experience with the video conferencing on the EEEPC? There is
someone (with a EEEPC) who would like to attend remotely.

That's what I want - just like the Eee but with more ports, builtin
wireless & ethernet.

Hi,
Can someone enlighten me please with respect to this comment here below
about a cheap/free copy of an SM licence with one's eee?
Which OS is it?
How do I go about getting it?
I could use another SM licence.

I got a black one from Bing Lee for $470 on Wednesday. So far I love it!
It actually seems smoother and faster than my desktop for some things
(eg youtube) and actually has the lastest version of Skype so you can
do video calls with the in builtltmicrophone and webcam.
Projects for the near future
So many great and informative responses :D
Thanks, Sluggers.

Hi all guys !that's first time i write in, but i'm following SLUG from time.
Impressions about EEEPC are wonderful, hackings are well documented. i do
really agree with martin, since umpc can't compete with low-price of eee,
and they dont have Solid State DIsks, wich are one of advantages in ASUS.

Dell XPS, with the 4G of RAM and the 160G drive that was
way more gorgeous than *any* of the Apple laptops I've
seen.

Described here: http://tinyurl.com/ynnn9c

a bit too small.
