In Ubuntu 7.04, snd-powermac is a bit screwed up - seems they changed something in the 2.6.21 kernels but your mileage might vary. There is a bug open in malone here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.20/+bug/87652 But as for Fedora Core 6, the sound seems to run perfect

Hi All I was given a little old 12"ibook from a friend. Its a 500Mhz with 256Mb RAM and now an 80Gb Hard disk. I have loaded Fedora Core 5 on it (My linux of choice) and it works wonderfully except for no sound. I stuck my Ubuntu 6.10 live cd in the drive the other night and it works beautifully
