Just moved across from Mandrake 8.0 to RedHat 7.1 with Ximian desktop to
see if less was broken. One significant thing is. shutdown -h now take
the machine through a typical shutdown - "Changing to init 0" (or 6) etc
unmounts closes variuos daemons then stalls at "no more processes to
halt in this runlevel". Does not power dowwn the machine. I have to
power off manually. When I restart the disks are in a mess.. This is the
first Linux I've installed that has done this.
