A belated Happiest of New Years to all and sundry.
I am going to do some research into a web-based reporting system
that allows one to specify (a) a database connection and then
(b) a report specification to produce a nicely formated report
from an RDBMS.
My thoughts are a python/perl script or two that provides a
*simple* interface that allows tables to be joined and columns
to be selected and renamed for the report. Think "Crystal Reports"
on the web.
"SQL for the dummiest" might be another way to specify this ;)
I am going to google for this now and will report back my results.
I am interested in hearing from any f you who have already done similar.
