I'm setting up a shiny new mail server.. Debian Sarge
I'm having trouble getting imapd to authenticate. I tried
apt-get install uw-imapd, then
apt-get install cyrus-imapd
but couldn't successfully telnet to port 143 for either. The telnet
session closes after a few seconds.

I'm a fan of dovecot, it's sleek, sexy, and safe. It does all kinds of cool
and it's easy to configure.
