I recently reinstalled my laptop, had trouble getting my Palm Pilot/Treo
syncing to jpilot. Anyway, I sorted that out (notes [1]); on my travels
the Ubuntu Starter Guide recommended [2] adding this line to the file
/etc/udev/rules.d/10-custom.rules:
