Looks interesting, though I somewhat question the stability and performance.

GPL should be ok for drivers as long as you ship or provide access to the
source code you used to finally build the driver (assuming you distribute
it).  You don't have to do anything if you only plan to use it yourself.

Assuming they haven't included any GPLd code in the utility then it should
be ok as well.
