Depends on your configuration. slurm.conf ReconfigFlags can change the behavior. I believe the default is that a 'scontrol reconfig' or a restart of slurm would restore the values in slurm.conf. Using scontrol will not modify slurm.conf, but as you discovered can be used to modify the running co

Ed, Your math looks correct. In 14.11 you can achieve what you want by setting Fairshare=parent on your dev account with sacctmgr. Fairshare=parent on accounts (only defined on users prior to 14.11) makes it so that accounts effectively disappear for fairshare calculations but still exist fo
