Start iTunes on your iMac.
Open iTunes Preferences/Sharing and set it to a) look for libraries
and b) share it's own library

there are things that keep two libraries in sync (try google, I don't
remember the name). That's the danger here, that you will have two
gradually divergent sets of music
Component splits video into three rgb channels and can hold an HD signal.
Composite is one cable for video, two for audio, bad quality!
Look at your tv to see if it has component input.

and the size of your library I imagine.

the free version so even if you do need it on both then not much of an
