Something to check with the WD passport drives, is that some have a "virtual cd" drive thing that kicks in with software on, if you've used a 3g dongle you will know the sort of thing I mean. Unfortunately this means that these ones can't be used to boot a mac from. Here are some amazon review r

Hello Smuggers, The hard drive in my MacBook seems to have given up the ghost. I was planning on replacing it with a MacBook Air in a few weeks time and so it seems easier to use a clone back up as a replacement (external) drive until then. Is there a make I should avoid? At the moment I'm loo
