I've recently bought a WD "My Book Live" to both store movies and to serve as 
the Time Machine backup. I've always had trouble with Time Machine (even when I 
used a first generation Time Capsule). Now the My Book has completely stopped 
backing up. It seems to think that I have an app called "Time Machine Editor" 
running which is conflicting with Time Machine itself. I don't have this App. 
Now MyBook has issued a message saying that it has carried out an audit, found 
some problems and won't run again until I've done a complete new backup. 
However, for the reasons mentioned above, it won't backup. Time Machine is 
sending me the message "Preparing Backup" but this goes on for a whole day 
without starting to back up.
I've tried to contact WD help service with no success. SMUGS (as so often) are 
my last hope......!
