How about a Foredom? (I believe that's the correct name; it's been a few
years since I saw one in the flesh).
A gunsmith's favorite, they have models with foot operated switches, etc.
Very good tool, although I don't know what one would cost these days.

my Porter Cable Laminate Trimmer. It's not the kind with the handles
